Testosterone Phenylpropionate Cycle and Effects — Updated in 2025

All you need to know about a rather exotic version of Testosterone, the king of all gear.

Testosterone Phenylpropionate is a form of testosterone that was first released by the Sicomed pharmaceutical house under the trade name “Testolent”.

Until recently, this ester was rarely found on the black market. However, the current availability of precursors for synthesis and the rise of numerous clandestine laboratories have made it more accessible. Phenylpropionate is also a component of the popular blend known as Omnadren.

Chemical structure

Chemically, the drug is a compound of testosterone and a phenylpropionate ester, which is more commonly associated with nandrolone (as in NPP).

This testosterone ester remains active for 4-5 days, placing it between the fast-acting testosterone propionate and the longer-acting cypionate. It is a useful option for athletes who like the effects of propionate but want to avoid frequent injections.

Research indicates that the best results are achieved with injections every third or fourth day, or approximately twice a week.

While its effects are almost identical to other testosterone forms, athletes often report that it causes less fluid retention than testosterone enanthate or cypionate. The resulting muscle "dryness" is relatively similar to that achieved with propionate.

Characteristics

  • Anabolic effect — 100% of testosterone.
  • Androgenic effect — 100% of testosterone.
  • Suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis — High.
  • Toxicity to the liver — Absent.
  • Mode of administration — Injection.
  • Drug effect — 3-4 days.

Effects

The primary benefit of Testosterone Phenylpropionate is straight-forward: it increases nitrogen retention in the muscles, creating a positive nitrogen balance where more protein is produced than broken down, leading to muscle growth.

  • Enhanced IGF-1: Boosts insulin-like growth factor in the liver and muscle tissue.
  • Faster Recovery: Stimulates the division of satellite cells, accelerating repair.
  • Increased Strength: Significantly boosts power performance.
  • Improved Endurance: Stimulates red blood cell production (hematogenesis), increasing oxygen delivery to muscles and delaying fatigue.
  • Fat Reduction: Promotes the reduction of body fat.

Also, keep androgenic effects in mind: Responsible for the development of secondary sexual characteristics, sexual behavior, and spermatogenesis.

Side effects

As with all testosterone esters, phenylpropionate can be converted in the body via two processes:

  1. Aromatization into estrogen, which can cause side effects like gynecomastia and water retention.
  2. Conversion into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme, which can lead to hair loss, an enlarged prostate, and other issues.

A common complaint with this ester is pain at the injection site, and there is a risk of abscess development if not administered properly.

Dosage and Uses

A solo testosterone phenylpropionate cycle is well-suited for beginners. A first cycle can start with a minimum dosage of 100 milligrams every third day for 4-6 weeks. These smaller doses allow a user to gauge their body's reaction and help prevent side effects.

Experienced athletes often increase the dosage. In either case, it is advisable to use anti-estrogens (like Proviron) or aromatase inhibitors to prevent estrogenic side effects.

Cycles

Testosterone phenylpropionate stacks effectively with compounds like Primobolan, Masteron, Stanozolol, and Trenbolone. It is crucial to limit the total dosage so that the combined injected volume does not exceed what is recommended for a solo course.

This combined administration creates a synergistic effect, where the drugs reinforce each other to produce better results than if they were used separately.

Conclusion

In summary, Testosterone Phenylpropionate offers a valuable middle-ground for testosterone users. Its 3-4 day active life provides a balance between the frequent injections required by propionate and the longer esters like enanthate or cypionate.

In 2025, while still not as common as the big three (Cypionate, Enanthate, Propionate), phenylpropionate has secured a stable place on the market. It is no longer considered a rare find, but a specialty item that most reputable UGLs will offer due to consistent demand.
