History and Chemical Structure

Boldenone undecylenate (also known under the trademark Equipoise, Boldabol, Boldebal, Boldesten, Ganabol) is an injectable anabolic steroid developed for veterinary use. The drug was designed as a long-acting version of Methandrostenolone; however, the result was a steroid which had completely different properties, despite the chemical similarity of the molecules. Boldenone is a molecule of Dianabole, which is devoid of 17-alpha-methyl group (this part of the molecule makes Dianabol passing through the liver possible without being destroyed). If we compare the effectiveness of Boldenone undecylenate and Dianabol, the growth of mass and the increase in strength by the results obtained would be almost the same.

Chemically, Equipoise is a molecule of testosterone, which has a double bond between carbon atoms 1 and 2. Such a modification has made Boldenone as powerful as testosterone, with regards to its anabolic properties, while the androgenic properties of the drug are two times less expressed. Nevertheless, experience shows that Equipoise provides lower results than the equivalent amount of testosterone does.

Boldenone undecylenate is often compared with Nandrolone. Obviously, this is connected with Dan Duchaine's book in which the author draws a parallel between these two drugs, noting, however, that Boldenone is a stronger anabolic. Indeed, Boldenone and Nandrolone differ in their action. Nandrolone is a progestine and 19-nor steroid while Boldenone in its function is closer to testosterone. Later, Dan Duchaine has revised his opinion of the similarity of these two drugs; however, on forums you may still find messages with pieces of advice against combining Boldenone and Nandrolone because of the similarity of the products. Dan Duchaine also writes that Equipoise suits better for making relief and venous visibility than for the growth of muscle mass.

New forms of the drug: Boldenone Acetate and Boldenone Propinate have the same effects, the difference lies only in the duration of action.

Effects

Athletes taking Boldenone often report the slow but high lean muscle growth.

It is believed that the slow effect of the drug is associated with a long ester (undecylenate) which is joint to the molecule of equipoise. Undecylenate is one atom longer than decanoate. For this reason, a more slow and sustained growth of muscles is expected during the Equipoise course as distinguished from the Nandrolone course. This also determines the duration of the course - up to 10 weeks. Competing athletes should always keep in mind that Equipoise, as well as Deca, has the extremely long detection time.

The drug increases your strength and enhances your appetite.
Equipoise greatly stimulates hemapoiesis (blood-forming). Elevated levels of red blood cells improve oxygen delivery to the muscles. It makes this steroid attractive for track and field athletes.

Side effects

The double bond between carbon atoms 1 and 2 that Equipoise has is responsible for many of its characteristics. First of all, it acts to slow aromatization (conversion into estrogens) of the drug. If compared with Testosterone, the conversion rate of Boldenone is two times lower.
Athletes almost never report estrogenic side effects with Boldenone generated by (gynecomastia, edema, increased blood pressure), even if the dose is as high as 1 g per week. It means that there is no need to take anti-estrogenes during the course of Equipoise.
Low androgenic properties enable Boldenone for women to use. Virilization (development of male sexual characteristics in women) occurs rarely, as compared to other steroids. Boldenone is one of the few injectable drugs that can be taken by female bodybuilders almost without risk of side effects.
The same double bond provides Equipoise's resistance for being changed by 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. This enzyme converts a small amount of Boldenone into Dihydroboldenone, which is a very potent androgen (7x as anabolic as Testosterone). Therefore, the drug almost never causes such androgen-related side effects as hair loss, acne, prostate hypertrophy, etc., and to a lesser degee inhibits the production of Testosterone in human body.

Dosages and Uses

The optimal dose of Boldenone is 400-800 mg once a week. As a rule, smaller dosages are less effective, higher dosages do not lead to better results but increase the risk of side effects.

Boldenone course lasts for 8-10 weeks.

Equipoise combines well with other steroids: Winstrol and Anavar - for lean mass (cut up); Testosterone and Trenbolone - for bulk up (in this case the duration of the course is reduced to 6 weeks due to a significant suppression of natural testosterone production and the need to add anti-estrogens to the course).

It is one of the best courses for begginers. Equipoise helps to reduce the dosage of testosterone, without harm to the anabolic effects, thereby reducing both the internal conversion of steroids into estrogens and androgen activity of the course. Tamoxifen almost completely eliminates the possibility of estrogen-related side effects.
